Conversations: Doris Lessing with Krista Kaer (25 min)
DVD+CD with interview text

Doris Lessing gives this rare interview to her translator Krista Kaer, speaking about the turning points of her life. In her candid answers, one of the most celebrated and distinguished writers of the 20th century sheds light on the ideological division of the world, the amazingly changeable nature of our life, the triangle of war, peace and forgetting, on terrorism and freedom – to mention only some of the keywords of the interview.

Lessing was born to British parents in Persia in 1919. A memorable journey through the early Soviet Union in 1924 took her to England for a brief stay before the family moved to Rhodesia (Zimbabwe). She returned to England after the Second World War, in 1949. Lessing is a major writer who has moved through complicated processes of transforming her own life into fiction. She lives and works in London.
